The Belarusian economy is handling external challenges well and is moving towards growth parameters. Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar made the relevant statement before meeting with workers of the Grodno-based company OAO Belcard, BelTA has learned.

Yuri Chebotar said: “Today we are summarizing economy performance in January-September 2022. As a matter of principle, we see the results we've expected. The main task of today's meeting at Belcard premises is to show to this worker collective, to the population as a whole that the country's economy is handling the external challenges around us well and we have been moving towards parameters of growth and restoration since summer.”

The official noted that to demonstrate that the growth of real salaries, the need to raise export are the key tasks that this enterprise and other ones face. Meetings with worker collectives are useful primarily as a direct channel for getting information about the problems that worry enterprises, worker collectives, and individual persons. “The matters being discussed today lie on the surface. Prices are one of them. You see what measures have been taken to tame this factor,” Yuri Chebotar said.

“There is also the growth of salaries, the need and the possibility of raising performance of enterprises. In order to pay higher salaries to people. Utility tariffs and so on are often discussed during such meetings,” he said.

By the way, today Belcard employs about 1,700 people. “In my opinion, such meetings are important. Everyone has an opportunity to ask the questions that worry them and that concern every individual. I am talking about prices, the Belarusian People's Congress, matters concerning salaries. Representatives of municipal government agencies, ministries sincerely and simply answered our questions,” said Anna Kiselevskaya, Deputy Head of the Human Resources Department at OAO Belcard.
