Tajikistan intends to develop cooperation with Belarusian regions
GRODNO, 16 May (BelTA) - Tajikistan intends to develop cooperation with Belarusian regions, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Belarus Kozidavlat Koimdodov said as he met with Grodno Oblast Governor of Semyon Shapiro. The Ambassador is in Grodno on a two-day visit to discuss the prospects of development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. >>>
Construction of new plant at Grodno Azot to start in 2013
MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – The construction of a new plant at Grodno Azot will be launched in 2013, First Deputy Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko told reporters on 16 May, BelTA has learnt. Vladimir Semashko noted that at present many foreign investors are showing interest in Grodno Azot. “There are many people who would like to participate; many options are on the table. Grodno launches international economic forums

Organizer of channel of illegal migrant traffic to EU detained in Grodno
GRODNO, 13 April (BelTA) - Organizer of the channel of illegal immigrant traffic to the European Union was detained in Grodno, BelTA learnt from the press service of the KGB department for Grodno Oblast. Belarus’ border authorities detained a citizen of the Russian Federation of Chechen nationality who tried to illegally cross the Belarus-Lithuanian border. The foreigner was under close KGB surveillance in Belarus. >>>
Additional simplified border checkpoints open on Belarusian border
MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – In connection with the religious holidays, more simplified border crossing points will be deployed on the Belarusian border, BelTA learnt from the press center of the State Border Committee. In particular, people with no luggage can use the simplified border checkpoint “Kamelishki” in Ostrovets District on 14 and 15 April from 10:00 until 17:00. The checkpoint will accommodate residents of the frontier territories. >>>
Grodno to host international orienteering contest
GRODNO, 11 April (BelTA) – Taking part in Open Grodno Cup 2012 will be more than 500 professional and amateur sportsmen from different countries. The competition will be held in Grodno and its suburbs on 12-15 April, BelTA learnt from the department of physical education, sports and tourism of Grodno City Hall. Belarus-Georgia cooperation could be more vigorous
GRODNO, 11 April (BelTA) – The economic relations between Belarus and Georgia could be more intensive, BelTA learnt from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus Georgy Chkheidze who is on a working trip to Grodno on 11 April. According to the diplomat, in recent years the two countries have been signaling their intention to step up economic cooperation. Grodno to host festival of national cultures
MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Over 60 collectives are expected to partake in the final leg of the festival of national cultures in Grodno in early June, BelTA learnt from the Center of National Cultures of the Culture Ministry of Belarus. Every year new cultures join the forum. The first festival in 1996 comprised 11 national cultural and educational associations. In 2011-2012 the panel of judges has selected 33 nationalities (including Venezuela, Africa, and Spain). >>>
